Further InformationThe Kruger 3.7m African thatch circular roof gazebo including timber base and flooring completely constructed and installed on site comprises:
African Cape Reed Thatch Roof:
A genuine 3.7m African thatch circular roof constructed from a combination of different types of African cape reed thatch tiles. Each thatch tile has a series of clips bound into the top of the tile. The thatch tiles are simply clipped onto 8mm tubular bars which are integrated on the outside of side the gazebo roof frame. See also:

Gazebo Roof Frame:
The thatch tiles are supported by a lightweight tubular zinc plated metal roof frame. The roof frame consists of a series of 8mm tubular bars running at 320mm (12.5`) intervals. The bars are positioned so that the tiles have a 100mm (4`) uniform overlap. The tiles are installed in layered courses starting from the bottom. The roof frame is pre coated in a sand colour to blend in perfectly with the thatch tiles. The frame is virtually invisible from underneath and all the thatch tiles are clearly visible from the inside.
Redwood Timber Poles:
The gazebo roof frame is supported by six 2.4m x 125mm (7`10.5" x 5") redwood timber poles. The timber poles are vacuum treated with Tanalith E wood preservative to ensure maximum weather and rot protection. Additionally all timber poles are pre treated with a cuprinol `golden brown` wood treatment preservative. Each timber pole is quadruple machine routed to accept both the interlocking redwood timber head rails and redwood ballustrading sections. See also:

Redwood Timber Head Rails:
The gazebo kit is supplied with six 75mm x 75mm (3` x 3`) redwood timber head rails. This head rail runs around the top of each structure interlocking with each individual pole. The purpose of this head rail is to ensure rigidity of the structure and also to enable the use of the optional canvas side panels. The head rails also allow the attachment of cables, heating and lighting options.
Redwood Timber Ballustrading Sections:
The gazebo kit is supplied with five sets of redwood timber ballustrading sections. One side is left open for the entrance to the structure. The ballustrading sections are pre manufactured in our workshops and are designed to slot straight into the pre routed timber poles.
Redwood Timber Base & Flooring:
Our construction service is unique in that our highly skilled team will completely hand build the timber base and flooring on site. This enables us to install all our thatched gazebos onto an unprepared or uneven site. Our on site service enables us to construct a base frame which is made to be perfectly level and is the platform upon which we construct the flooring and gazebo. Another major advantage of this installation method is that our structures can be erected on uneven or sloping sites. We simply supply longer poles to enable the floor to be raised off the ground. Additionally our fitters will clad the outer edges the gazebo base in matching timbers to follow the contours of the uneven ground. When required our structures can be built on piles which are sunk into the ground.
Installation:
At the African Thatch Company we employ our own team of highly trained carpenters, joiners and fitters who can carry out the whole gazebo construction and installation process on site. From start to finish, our polite and skilled team will carry out their work with the least amount of disruption to you and your garden. See also:
