FAQ

Q. How long does it take before my gazebo or structure is delivered and erected?

Q. How long does it take to install a thatched building?

A. This depends on the size of the structure to be installed. The smaller structures are normally installed within two days and the larger structures can take five days or longer.

Q. I am not sure what size thatched building to buy?

A. Customers who have purchased a smaller building often tell us they wished they had purchased a slightly larger structure. Obviously the size of the structure is dictated by the space available. The space will always be used, so it is advisable to purchase a unit that fits comfortably in the space available. We offer a wide range of sizes to suit every space. If you are replacing an existing building, you should consider whether to have the same size again or perhaps a larger one. You should also consider how you intend to use your thatched building. For example if you intend to purchase a hot tub and additionally want space to entertain, then an larger oval thatched structure would be more suitable.

Q. I live in a remote location with difficult access, can you still deliver and install?

A. Yes, no problem. Living in Yorkshire, we have come across this problem on quite a few occasions. One of our delivery vehicles is a Land Rover Defender. This vehicle enables us to access a remote or difficult site.

Q. How should I maintain my thatched building?

A. All timbers used in the construction of our thatched buildings are pressure treated with Tanalith E wood preservative treatment. This treatment is the UK`s leading wood preservative treatment. Additionally the structures are `double soaked` in Cuprinol `Golden Brown` wood treatment preservative. Eventually, over time, the timbers of the thatched building will turn to a silver grey colour. If you prefer to maintain a colour for your chosen structure, it should be treated with a good quality wood stain every few years. All major wood stain manufacturers offer suitable products in a choice of colours, available from local timber merchants and good hardware shops.
