You do not need to be a joiner, carpenter or DIY enthusiast to assemble one of our gazebo kits. All gazebo kits can be assembled by a competent person and a helper. Each component is pre-assembled and precision cut or routed to ensure a snug fit. It is literally a matter of slotting together the different components. Building a thatched gazebo just does not get any easier. Most gazebo kits can be fully assembled in a matter of hours using only a cordless screwdriver and a hammer.
We can tell you that customers of all skill levels and ages (from 21 -88) have had great fun assembling our thatched gazebo kits. The majority are often so proud of their handy work that they can not wait to send us a photo for our gallery!
The African Thatch Company have gazebo kits available in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, styles, prices, supplied with or without a timber base and with many options to choose from. Our quality gazebo kits are constructed of beautiful, long lasting, hand selected Redwood timber and poles.
Timber Base & Flooring:
Building a timber base and flooring from scratch requires advanced carpentry skills. There are many angle and compound angle cuts required. For this reason we supply the timber base and flooring completely pre build. The timber base and flooring is supplied in two or three sections (depending on the gazebo size). These sections bolt together to form the foundation for your thatched gazebo. The gazebo kit timber base and flooring should be positioned on a flat level surface. Ideally the surface should be constructed from decking, paving or concrete. If you do not have a suitable base, or an uneven or unprepared site, please see our gazebo installation service.
Timber Poles & Balustrading:
The timber poles are supplied pre cut to the correct height and are designed to slot into each corner of the timber base and flooring through a pre cut circular hole. Each timber pole is also pre routed to accept the integrated timber headrail and balustrade sections. Each timber balustrade section is pre assembled in our factory and designed to slot into each individual pole. Specifically engineered heavy duty zinc galvanised pole to roof frame brackets are also supplied to enable secure fixing of the roof frame to the top of the timber poles.
Roof Frame & Thatch Roof:
Each gazebo kit is supplied comes complete with a lightweight zinc galvanised tubular steel roof frame. The lightweight tubular roof frame is virtually invisible from underneath and the thatch tiles are clearly visible from inside. The roof frame is then completely covered with a combination of different genuine African cape reed thatch tiles which create a distinctive stepped appearance. The thatch tiles are very durable, have a long life span, and offer natural aesthetic beauty.

Each gazebo kit is supplied with all the necessary fixing, fastening and detailed user instructions to help you build a quality gazebo that will last for years. We have a variety of options and accessories that allow you to create a gazebo for your particular needs. Redwood Timber & Poles:
All timbers and poles used in the construction of our gazebo kits are made from premium quality Douglas Fir Redwood timber. The timber and poles are pressure treated with Tanalith `E` wood preservative to protect against rot and insect attack. To further enhance the timber and to ensure maximum weather protection all timber components are additionally `double soaked treated` in Cuprinol `Golden Brown` wood treatment preservative.

Purchasing a gazebo kits will save you hundreds, even thousands, of pounds over building from a gazebo from scratch. This is often true whether or not you use a joiner or carpenter. You will also get a better built product as not a lot of people have the skills to build a high quality gazebo.
UK Delivery & Worldwide Shipping:
We supply and deliver quality thatched gazebo kits to the UK and most world wide locations from our manufacturing centre located in the north of England. We deliver gazebo kits using our own vehicles within a 2-3 hour radius. For all other UK areas and for worldwide shipping our gazebo kits are shipped via a trailer, sea or air freight service on factory sealed pallets.
Installation Service:
Alternatively we can take care of the whole process for you. All our African thatched gazebos can be fully installed on site by our professional construction and installation team.
